I just love this scene from RE2, when Ada confess love to Leon, and then "dies". It was so sad. 
That's why I'm furious with Capcom for screwing up the feeling between those two in RE4 with that crappy dialogue:
*after not seeing each other for 6 years*
Ada: Leon. Long time no see.
Leon: So it is true...
Ada: True? About what?
Leon: You, working with Wesker.

Your right they did kind of screwed around with the relationship in RE4 but there was that one boat scene with ada and leon. Ada caught a glimpse of leon staring at her so she swerved the boat around to catch him off guard lol. Then she's was all like i got some business to take care of. When she left was all like Heh... Women
